The Practice of Periodontics
A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal diseases including gingavitis which lead to the destruction of the supporting bone around the teeth. A periodontist also handles the surgical placement and long term maintenance of dental implants.
